Foreign Branded Phone Sales in China Jumped 66.3% in June

The surge came even as overall phone shipments within China fell 15.3% from a year earlier to 19.15 million handsets in June, with Apple being the largest beneficiary of the trend.
Shipments of foreign-branded phones within China including those from Apple Inc soared 66.3% to 3.28 million handsets in June, according to Reuters calculations based on data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
Overall phone shipments within China fell 15.3% from a year earlier to 19.15 million handsets in June, data from the government-affiliated research company showed on Wednesday.
