Juni Kang Brings Gold Streak to Inaugural X Games League Championship

Following a string of historic victories, South Korean prodigy Juni Kang looks to cement his status as a global icon at the inaugural X Games League Summer Championship.

Seventeen-year-old Korean skateboarder Juni Kang is competing in the inaugural X Games League Summer Championship, beginning in New Orleans on July 24th.

Kang’s recent performance has been remarkable.  Earlier this month, he captured gold in the Men’s Skateboard Street Best Trick event at X Games Chiba 2026.  This followed his win last month in Sacramento, where he secured his first X Games gold in the same event.  He earned that Sacramento victory with a nollie backside 270 heelflip to boardslide 270 out of a 12-stair handrail, demonstrating the precision that has defined his professional development.  In April, he claimed victory at an SLS tournament in his debut, a result that is viewed among the most significant rookie performances in the league’s history.

He achieved a major milestone in 2025 by becoming the first Korean skateboarder to medal at the X Games, where he secured silver during his Street debut in Osaka.  His rapid development was recognized by key international victories at the 2025 Copenhagen Open and the 2024 Tampa Am, both of which established him as a premier global talent.

Kang is currently represented by Gifted Existence Management, an agency established by his idol, two-time Japanese Olympic gold medalist Yuto Horigome.  Beyond his current competition schedule, Kang has set a specific long-term target of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.  If he maintains his current level of success, he will be a primary contender to represent South Korea on the Olympic stage.  Until then, all eyes remain on skateboarding’s newest standout as he continues to push the boundaries of the sport.
